PDA Survey
The appearance of PDA surveys can best be described as a cross between a web survey and a kiosk survey – they can accommodate drop-down list, include graphics and buttons like a web survey, and they are based on a touch screen like a kiosk.
The main advantages of PDAs are the portability and the cost of the equipment. The main disadvantages are the screen size and the difficulties of recording large volumes of free format text using the stylus.
Setting up a survey for PDAs is easy in Snap with templates specifically designed for the device. Our advice is:
- Use drop down lists wherever possible to make best use of the screen.
- Use standard rather than graphical buttons.
- Limit free text replies to product names etc rather than comments.
- Limit rating scales to a maximum of 5 points due to the screen size. If you need more, then change from grids to drop down lists.
